✿ REVIEW: "UGLY LOVE" by Colleen Hoover ✿

🔖 Book review: “Ugly Love” by Colleen Hoover.
Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.
rating: 3/5 ⭐️ genre: Romance, Adult, Spicy 🌶
📌Summary:
A broken love story of trying for past relationships when open room in their hearts to love again. The story revolves around the unexpected meeting between Tate Collins - a performance nurse and pilot Miles Archer. They meet unexpected in each other life, and both of them know that this isn't love at first sight or anything. Their relationship can't even enter friend level. However, there is always a tension between the two, and they do not deny it. Tate has no time for love, and Miles doesn't want love. The pair's combination of them to a decidedly violent situation when they come together, but only for the needs to satisfy their own ambitions. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless until Tate breaks the 2 rules that Miles has for her:
Never ask about the past.
Do not expect a future.
They think everything has a chance to fix it, but it's too late...
💭 My own thought about the book:
The story begin when Tate had to moves in temporarily at her brother's house - Corbin. Everything would have been fine if she didn't met Miles on that fateful night when he was drunk in front of the house :). The fact that he is her brother's best friend and also neighbor to each other makes the two seen each other quite often and gradually form hidden feelings since then. But there's something about Miles that has always confus Tates about their relationship. Is Miles feeling the same way as Tate, and will this will be something that separate their futures? Those are the questions that will arise in the minds of readers when holding this book in their hands. The content will continue to change the perspective of Tate and Miles, while alternating between the truth of the couple's past and present. The plot is centered around character development (especially Miles). This is also a quite fast-paced and easy to understand story. But just when you think you can already guess the ending, a plot twist will be revealed that will make you feel quite shocked and sympathetic for the characters in the story. Revealing a character who holds a key role for this series of past events is Rachel. This is a character that really gives me a lot of "mixed-feeling" but overall I still appreciate the way the author groomed Rachel. In addition, a plus point for Ugly Love is the way to write the description of some quite unique and impressive passages like the way I can feel the same emotions with the character. The following one would be an example:

For the minus point for the reason I don't give this book a high rating is because the main characters' emotions are quite messy and somewhat annoying for me :( and I feel the relationship of Tate and Miles in this story is quite toxic and not the right way to maintain feelings for each other. When I finished reading this, I went to Goodsread to find and read some of other readers's comment and the following is a comment from a girl that say exactly how I feel about Ugly Love:
"And one last closing thought: if you're a young woman (or young man) reading this, and you think this is the way love is supposed to be, just no"
...
" Don't ever let someone walk all over you and don't ever settle for less than you deserve. Tate should've kicked Miles to the curb a long time ago. If she had, this would've been a story worth reading."

(Yuns's profile in case y'all wanna read more some of her other contents ^^)
So even though it's not exactly a book that meets my high expectations, it's still a good experience for me and you should give it a try ✨
🏷 My last thought:
Ugly Love miss my third colleen Hoover's book and was one of the book that I'm really excited to read because of it hype on the BookTok community. Personally, I would said that this book is quite easy and fast to read (I finished it in 2 days). But the only thing that highlight about Ugly Love is the plot twist one because till there I could finally feel connected with the character more!!
Once you finished the book then you will understand the meaning of the cover =)) its literally the coolest thing ever like when I done with the book and close it, I literally gasp lmaoo like how can Colleen be so clever with this ;DD
When I first start I expected myself to bailing my eyes out since so many people on TikTok was crying their core out in their review =)) this one ould be an example:
However I end up not even failing a single drop haha don't know is it because Im being "too cold" or not. Anyways give this book a try if it seem like something could be interesting you like this: forbidden romance, brother best friend, cold - emotion dude, ex drama, fwb :)
